Vivian VERES Obituary

VERES Vivian R. Vivian R. Veres, age 84, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2010, in St. Luke's Hospital, Maumee. Vivian was born in Toledo on June 21, 1926, the daughter of Robert and Rose (Kulczynski) Simsock. She was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy and had been a receptionist for the Alexander Co. Accountants for over 20 years. Prior to that Vivian was a secretary at Owens Illinois, was a waitress at the Parkcrest Banquet Hall and worked at Strain's Market. Vivian was a charter member of the former St. Jude Parish and was a member of the VFW Post #2898 Ladies Auxiliary. Among Vivian's many interests were Hungarian Embroidery and Pretty Punch needlework. She enjoyed cooking, making pickles, Toledo Mud Hens baseball and she was especially proud of her collection of little yellow rubber duckies. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, Peter J. Veres. She is survived by her devoted children, Tina Friess and Paul and his wife, Gale Veres; as well as her grandchildren, Kelly Michalak and Bryan Veres. Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8:30 p.m. at the W.K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy. where VFW Post #2898 Auxillary services will be held at 6:30 p.m. and recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Hyacinth Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Tributes in Vivian's memory may be to the American Heart Association.

P.J. and Tina;
I was extremely saddened to hear about your Mothers passing! I am sorry that I am not able to attend the Funeral either. I Loved your Mother like another Grandmother and will miss her very much. I am glad that I got to spend P.J.'s Birthday with her and have her Fried Chicken. (The Best you have ever tasted may I add!) My thoughts and prayers are with you and your Family.
