Walter Fritz Obituary

FRITZ Walter T. Walter passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 18, 2007, at the age of 87, surrounded by his loving family. Walter was born on July 10, 1920, to Wilhelm Fritz and Christina Kempf in Germany. Walter and Gerda were married on September 27, 1947, in Stuttgart, Germany. Walter and Gerda recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Walter and his wife, Gerda moved to Lake Havasu City in 1992 from Toledo, Ohio. Walter enjoyed reading, listening to music, taking walks, playing cards and many trips to Laughlin. He attended the Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. Walter retired after 25 years of loyal services to the Toledo Blade Newspaper. Walter was a member of the GAF Society, Toledo Schwaben Verein, GBU, Teutonia Maenner Chor and the GAF Retirees. He was also a member of St. James Lutheran Church. Walter was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, William Fritz and a sister, Irene Dressler. Walter leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Gerda; son, Walter (Carmen) Fritz; daughter, Marlene (Philip) Kasprzak; grandchildren, Braden and Michelle Fritz; nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. We thank Hospice for all the loving care they gave to Walter and his family. Donations can be made in Walter's name to Hospice of Havasu P.O. Box 597, Lake Havasu City, Arizona 86405-0597. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Lake Havasu Mortuary & Crematory. Your thoughts and condolences can be sent to the family at www.lakehavasumortuary.com

I was so sorry to hear of Walter's passing. I have many fond memories of Walter and Gerda at St. James. My prayers are with your family. God loves us by giving us all the memories of our loved ones. May you cherish in those.
