Wanda Jane Conroy
June 1, 1931 - August 5, 2025
Wanda Jane (Zientek) Conroy, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on June 1, 1931, to the late Frank and Ann (Michonski) Zientek, Wanda lived a life marked by grace, kindness, and joy.
She was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Bob Conroy, with whom she shared 45 wonderful years of marriage. Their bond was unbreakable, and it brings comfort to her family knowing she has now been reunited with him. Together, they lived an amazing life full of travel, laughter, and deep love.
A proud graduate of Woodward High School, Class of 1949, Wanda went on to enjoy a successful career as an Executive Administrative Assistant at Owens Corning Fiberglass, where she retired in 1986 after decades of dedicated service.
Wanda will be fondly remembered for her beautiful blue eyes, her sparkling smile that lit up every room, and her boundless talents. She was an extraordinary dancer, a gifted baker and seamstress, and could master any craft she took on. Always impeccably dressed and forever stylish, Wanda had a flair for shopping and loved time spent with family, especially game nights playing Euchre, Oh Hell, or Dominoes with her grandchildren.
Wanda and Bob traveled extensively from coast to coast, creating cherished memories in Marco Island, Florida; Fairfield Mountains, North Carolina; and especially at their lake house on Marble Lake.
Wanda was recently preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents; and her sister, MaryAnn.
She is survived by her loving children: daughter, Connie (John) Lincoln; son, Dean (Kathy) Rooker; and stepdaughter, Cathy (Tim) Shirley. Between Bob and Wanda, their blended family includes 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to her life. She was deeply involved in their lives and never missed a special event.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers and staff at Kingston Residence of Sylvania and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their exceptional care, kindness, and support during Wanda's final days.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., on Monday, August 18, 2025, in the narthex of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Sylvania, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Interment services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Cascades Humane Society in Jackson, MI; two causes close to Wanda's heart.
Wanda lived a life full of love, faith, family, and beauty. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and joy that will continue to live on through all who knew and loved her.
