I have nothing but fond memories of Mr. Bortz as he was my teacher for 7th grade Geography back in 1980/1981. I always looked forward to his class and felt he was one of Rossford's best. My sympathy goes out to the family during this difficult time.

The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires....Thanks Mr Bortz for being one of the "GREAT" ones!! Cherie Snyder Weeks. Class of "74"

First, my sympathy to the family. May your memories be of days when Bill was a vibrant person full of love and energy. My husband and Bill were friends through Perrysburg Exchange Club. They were both educators, both pretty much the same politically and enjoyed attending meetings and serving as each could. Together they ran the tree campaign and enjoyed working this fund raiser, everything from deciding which trees to offer, contacting the grower and delivering them throughout Perrysburg and beyond. They shared lots of conversation along the way; that's what friends do. It is kinda neat to think that many of the trees they delivered are still growing strong in Perrysburg.
