William Johnson Obituary

William Dale Johnson

September 13, 1958 - July 13, 2025

With profound sadness, our family announces the passing of William Dale Johnson Jr., who left us peacefully on July 13, 2025, following complications from Parkinson's disease.

Though Dale moved out west more than 45 years ago, those of us who knew and loved him never truly felt far from him. Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, and a proud graduate of Whitmer High School's class of 1976, Dale took a leap of faith at 21 and made his way west-first to Arizona, then to Southern California-where he would spend the rest of his life building both a successful career and a deeply meaningful life.

Dale was a gifted recruiter and, for many years, one of the top professionals in Southern California. He didn't just help people find jobs-he helped them build careers. He took pride in connecting others with opportunity, and he made a lasting impact on countless lives through his work.

Outside of the office, Dale found peace in the sun and joy in the ocean. He loved the beach, and swimming was his greatest passion. There was something about the water that mirrored his spirit-calm, strong, and steady.

He was also a lifelong Boston Celtics fan, proudly supporting the team no matter where he lived. Whether it was Larry Bird, Paul Pierce, or today's stars, Dale never missed a chance to cheer for the green and white. His loyalty never wavered.

Dale is survived by his loving mother, Barbara Johnson, and his three brothers: Kevin Johnson (with Renée), Freddy Johnson, and Patrick Johnson. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Dale is now reunited with his father, whom he missed dearly.

In accordance with Dale's wishes, there will be no public showing or service. His family honors his request for quiet remembrance, and we invite you to think of him when you feel the sun on your face, hear the ocean's waves-or see the Celtics take the court. Those were the things that made him feel most alive.

Yesterday

So sorry to hear the news of Dale passing. I worked with Dale during his years as an Executive Recruiter in Orange County, Calif. Dale worked for our Company(Culver Careers) for about 16 years from 1990 to ~2006. He has been the only Recruiter in our 46 year history to become the Top Recruiter in the company for 3 consecutive years. My condolences to the Johnson Family. Best Regards, John Weaver. P.S. Culver has ties to Ohio as I grew up just 20 miles west of Toledo and have been in the Whitmer HS Gym several times for basketball games.
