William Reineke Obituary
William Frank"Bill" Reineke, Sr. passed awayonMarch 6, 2023. Son, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, friend, entrepreneur, philanthropist, humanitarian, traveler,boater, andstoryteller are just some of the titles that could be used when referring to WFR, Sr.
Born in ToledoonFebruary 12, 1928 to Frances(Lichtenwagner) and William Francis Reineke. Billquickly learned thathard work, a can-do attitude,and perseverance would becrucial to his success in life. After graduating from MacomberVocational High School in 1946, he enlisted in the US Marine Corps, serving statesidetwice during the Korean Conflict.
In 1951,Bill met his future bride of fifty years,Corrine Barchick,on a blind date. They married January 31, 1953,and welcomed ten children. Bill devoted his life to raising and providing for his family.
Billstartedhis automotive career when he began selling cars for BahnamOlds in Toledo in 1955. In1960,hepurchasedOliver Pore Buick Oldsmobilein Fostoria and moved his family, startingReineke Ford, Inc., and thefirst store in the Reineke Family Dealership Chain. He had a storied career in the business and oftenchronicledhis life by the year and make of the car he drove.
Faith,serviceand community werealso large portions of his life. Billwas a committed supporterof St. Wendelin Catholic Church, serving inmultiplepositions and ushering nearly every Sunday9a.m. mass.
He also participated intheFostoriacommunity through innumerable activities including Rotary,theElks,theKnights of Columbus,business and economic development,andFostoria Hilltop Club,of which he was the longest-living member. Additionally,he served on the Tiffin University Board ofTrusteesfrom1986to2016and wasawardedanHonorary Doctoratein Humane Lettersin 2020.
WFR, Sr.waspreceded in death by his parents; sister, Rita Bogdanski; brother, Donald; grandson, Kevin Nusser; son-in-law, Kerry Mitchell; and hisbeloved wife,Corrine (Barchick).
He is survived by their ten children, William Jr., JacquelineMitchell,Elizabeth Jadwisiak, Nancy (Robert) Nusser, Thomas (Stacey), John (Vannessa), Cynthia (Joseph) Taylor, Susan (Anthony) Casale, Daniel (Nikki), and Kathryn (John) Schneider; twenty-threegrandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. Bill was additionally grateful tohis devoted friendand companion,Evelyn Marker.
Visitation is 2 p.m. â€" 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Hoening & Son Funeral Home, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio 44830 where a Vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral mass is 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Wendelin Catholic Cemetery where military honors will be provided by the United Veterans of Fostoria Honor Guard.

What a lovely, loving man. I think I lost saw him at our Aunt Joan's funeral where he talked to me about my father. Prayers of comfort for your family. No matter how long our parents live, we always wish for more.
