Sharon Elizabeth Neylon

Sharon Elizabeth Neylon, 77, of Lambertville, NJ, died on Friday, August 22, 2025 at Serenity Hospice in Hamilton, NJ.
Born in Lambertville, Sharon was a lifelong resident of the city. She was a dedicated support skills teacher, specializing in early education and reading advancement. Sharon worked with students one on one and in small groups, kindergarten through 6th grade, guiding and encouraging them to achieve their full potential. She was committed to the success of her students. She started her career in Whitehouse Station teaching 2nd grade, taught at Stockton Elementary School, and finished her career teaching for many years at Robert Hunter School in the Flemington Raritan school district. Sharon took great pride in her students' achievements. After retirement, she continued to work as a substitute teacher and also as a sales associate at the Sojourner in Lambertville. Sharon was a graduate of St. John the Evangelist School in Lambertville, South Hunterdon Regional High School in West Amwell, and Trenton State College. A lifelong member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Lambertville, she served as a eucharistic minister and prepared children for their first holy communion.
Sharon was devoted to her family and was an amazing grandmother. She enjoyed art, music, and ballet and shared these interests with her family. Sharon enjoyed good times with family and friends, going out to dinner, or lingering over a glass of wine. You couldn't have a better friend than Sharon.
Sharon was the wife of the late Anthony J. Neylon, the daughter of the late James and Catherine Rosso Curtin, and the stepdaughter of the late Jean Curtin. She is survived by her daughters Catherine Sabina Neylon of New Hope, PA , Mary Ellen Neylon Darken (husband Patrick) of New Hope, and Maureen Fox (husband Charles) of Hamilton, NY; her grandchildren Finnegan Neylon Darken of New Hope, Kinley and Teagan Darken of New Hope, Gavin Vess of Blacksburg, VA, Mark Fox (wife Anne) of Darien, CT, Tim Fox (wife Susan) of Durham, NC; her great-grandchildren Logan, Keely, and Luke Fox and Graff and Chandler Richards; her sisters Kathleen Semko (husband Deacon Mike) of Lambertville and Rebecca Braun (husband Ray) of Doylestown; her brother James Curtin (wife Lee) of Columbus, NJ; her many nieces, nephews, and cousins and their families; and the many students whose lives she touched.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday afternoon September 3, 2025 at 1 pm at St. John the Evangelist Church, 44 Bridge Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530.
Committal services will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 11 am at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Avenue, Newtown, PA 18940. Attendees should gather at the cemetery administration building at 10:45 am. Attendees may also gather at the funeral home at by 10:15 am to proceed to the cemetery in procession.
There will be calling hours at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530, on Tuesday evening, September 2, 2025 from 6 to 8 pm and on Wednesday morning, September 3, 2025 from 11:30 am until departure for church.
