Henrietta Ossie Robinson "Henny" Gonzales TRENTON - Henrietta Ossie Robinson "Henny" Gonzales, 95, died December 20, 2013 peacefully at home. Born August 30, 1917 in King and Queen County, VA. to the late Bessie Robinson Grinnage and the late James Robinson. Henrietta was a graduate of the Trenton Public School system. She was a loyal and dedicated member of the Union Baptist Church, Trenton, NJ and served as Co-Chair and Chair of Women's Day Celebrations. Henrietta was a member of the Oziel Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star Prince Hall Affiliation (P.H.A.) Zipporah Chapter No. 11, P.H.A., Lady Orchid Assembly No.44, P.H.A., West Trenton District #1 of the New Jersey State Federation of Colored Women's Clubs, Inc., Ewing Township Board of Assistance, The Ewing Community Club, the Hollowbrook Seniors, Ewing Democratic Committee, District #3Committee Person, The Civil and Charity Welfare League, the West Trenton Garden Club and the Conway and Grafton Avenues Unity Block Party. She held Life Memberships for the Telephone Pioneers of America, Tuxedoretts, Inc. and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Mrs. Gonzales retired from a position of responsibility with the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company and with the New Jersey Department of Labor, Division of Unemployment Security. Her late husband Frank E. Gonzales and brother James E. "Brother" Robinson predeceased Henrietta. Her memory will be cherished and forever remembered by two nieces Leona "Sugie" Verona and Hennie Williams (Trenton); cousins, John Robinson (Chicago, Ill.), Marion Robinson (VA); special cousins; Ruth "Trudy" Naomi Johnson Dunn (Rev. Kenneth Dunn) (VA), Cleveland Johnson, Jr. (Portia) (VA), Marion Robinson; special cousins, Minnie G. Sumners (Ewing), Roberta "Bobbie" Sumners (Ewing) Jimmy Roots (Hamilton, NJ); godsons, Thomas W. Sumners, Jr. (Nicole) (Lawrenceville) Fredrick Brown; daughter-friend, Fredricka (Ricky) McNeal Billups (Ewing); caregivers, Mary K. Krokowski, Sonia Williamson, Keisha Williams and a host of other relatives and friends. Henrietta will always be remembered of her warm spirit, graciousness and captivating smiles. Funeral service will be 11am Thursday January 2, 2014 at the Union Baptist Church, 301 Pennington Ave. Trenton, NJ. Calling hours will be 10am until time of service at the church. Interment Princeton Memorial Park Robbinsville, NJ. Arrangements are by the Hughes Funeral Home.
