Larry Lerch Obituary

Larry James Lerch, age 65, of Falls Creek, Pa., passed away peacefully on Friday, July 13, 2018, as a patient of Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital.
He was born on March 27, 1953, to Orval "Bill" Lerch and Doris I. (Myers) Lerch in DuBois, Pa. Doris preceded him in passing; Orval "Bill" and his wife Betty survive. Larry graduated from the DuBois Area High School with the class of 1971. On August 18, 1987, he married Shelly L. (Sloniger) Lerch; Shelly also survives him.
Larry made a career with and retired from Brockway Glass as a Setup Man.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Falls Creek, Pa., a social member of the American Legion, post 392, and the Horton Twp., Sportsman's club.
Larry enjoyed watching sports and supported equally his Chicago teams and his Pittsburgh teams.
He was known to be a jokester and had the ability to easily make friends wherever he went. Everywhere he went he seemed to know someone. Larry was a very kind hearted person who was willing to do anything for others in need and loved to make people laugh. He also liked visiting other places throughout the country.
He loved his family very much and had a deep concern for the wellbeing of his grandchildren. He was also very excited about the latest addition to the family, his great-granddaughter.
In addition to his wife, father, and stepmother, Larry is survived by one son, Darrell J. (Heidi) Lerch of Sykesville, Pa.; one brother, Orval "Bud" (Bess) Lerch of Gulfport, Miss.; one sister, Donna I. Warnick of Pass Christian, Miss.; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, Larry is preceded in death by one daughter, Tamela Lerch; and one brother, Darrell "Butch" Lerch, who he missed immensely.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., at the Snyder – d'Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main St., Reynoldsville, PA 15825. A funeral service will immediately follow, beginning at 12 noon, and officiated by Rev. Kenneth Eddy. Interment will take place at Morningside Cemetery, DuBois, Pa.
Memorial contributions are encouraged to be made in his name to the animal shelter that is closest to the donor, or to the Hahne Cancer Center.

Shelly, I am so sorry to hear about Larry. You know you both have been in my thoughts and prayers. When Larry would call in to work, he always said: "it's just the pest" We would laugh and have a small chat. Never a pest!!
I won't be able to make it to the funeral due to my back but will be there in spirit. Thinking of you and all of the family.
