Robert L. LaBorde

1947 - 2015

Robert L. LaBorde, 68, Van Woert Street, Sykesville, died Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at his home.
Born Feb. 1, 1947, in Sykesville, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Lucena M. (Dixon) LaBorde.
He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam War.
On Oct. 25, 1969, he married Patricia A. (Himes) LaBorde She survives.
He was the supervisor of the security department for 20 years at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.
Bob was the owner of LaBorde's Outdoor Bait Shop in Sykesville. He enjoyed his family and was Protestant by faith.
He is survived by his children: Robin Feldman of DuBois, Paul LaBorde and his wife, Sharon, of Sykesville, and his daughter in law, Tonya Knisely of Reynoldsville; a sister, Gertrude Yohe of N.Y.; two brothers, Walter J. LaBorde and his wife, Jane; and Richard LaBorde and his wife, Juanita, both of Sykesville; eight grandchildren: Shawn, Samantha, Tye and Kiera LaBorde, Ryan, Derrick, Nathan, and Sophie Feldman.
Bob was preceded in death by his son, Adam M. LaBorde.
Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015m at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home, DuBois. A ritual service will be held at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9 at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015, at the Goble Baronick Funeral Home with the Rev. Fr. Daniel Kresinski officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the funeral home.
