Jill Alsup Obituary

Jill Marian Alsup peacefully passed away on March 23, 2024, Rocky Mountain Assisted Living at Chestnut Hills in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. She was born on February 28, 1940, in Casper, Wyoming, to loving parents Pat and Lillian Alsup, alongside her twin brother, Jack, at Memorial Hospital.

Jill's pursuit of knowledge led her to excel academically, graduating from NCHS in 1958 before furthering her education at MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois, where she graduated with honors in 1962 with a BA degree in Philosophy and Religion. Continuing her academic journey, she earned a MA degree in Philosophy from Penn State University in 1964.

Passionate about teaching and sharing her wisdom, Jill dedicated years to educating students in Philosophy and Humanities at esteemed institutions such as Penn State in New Kensington, Carlow College in Pittsburgh, Our Lady of the Lake University, and Trinity University in San Antonio, TX.

In 1972, Jill transitioned to healthcare management in Houston, TX, contributing her expertise first at Zimmerman Medical Clinic and later at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic until 1980. Returning to Casper in 1980 to care for her ailing mother, she played an instrumental role in establishing Dr. Charles Ewing's allergy practice.

Jill's commitment to healthcare continued as she served as Director of Clinical Investments at Casper Clinic from 1983 until her retirement in 2004.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Jill had a deep passion for sports, both as a participant and a spectator. She was an avid player of women's fast-pitch softball, volleyball, and racquetball, and a devoted fan of baseball, football, and basketball.

Throughout her life, Jill was dedicated to serving her community. She played pivotal roles as a founding board member of the Central Wyoming Hospice program and as the founder of the Wyoming Medical Group Management Association. Even after retirement, she continued her philanthropic efforts, volunteering for Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions, Meals on Wheels, and serving as a member of Golden Key Kiwanis.

Jill will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, including her sister-in-law Sandra Alsup, nephews Neal Alsup (Pam) and Jim Alsup (Yolanda), as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. She is also survived by her lifelong friend Helen Rose Ebaugh of Houston, TX.

A memorial service to celebrate Jill's remarkable life will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church on May 11, 2024, at 11:00 am, followed by inurnment at Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions, Golden Key Kiwanis, or the Humane Society in memory of her beloved Pomeranians, Li'l Bit, Sheba, and Rosie.

Jill was one of my oldest and dearest friends. We met in our 20´s when we were both teaching at Our Lady of the Lake University. When I went to Columbia we often spent holidays together when we could not get back to Texas or Wyoming. I also made a great trip around Wyoming with Jill, her Mom and Dad in their trailer! I am so sorry to miss the memorial but I am having medical issues right now that keep me close to home. Helen Rose

Alsup family,

My condolences on Jill's passing. My mother mentioned her frequently through their shared work at the Hospice program.
