Anna Misiewicz Obituary

Anna Marie Misiewicz, 81, of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, May 31, 2011, in Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. She was born Feb. 18, 1930, in Renton, a daughter of the late Michael and Katherine Hrabick Poklembo. She was a resident of Mammoth for 22 years. She was married to the late Eugene Misiewicz, who died in 2003, for 46 years. She was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church and past member of the former Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church. She was employed as a seamstress for Union Apparel in Norvelt and the Williams Manufacturing Co. in Scottdale. She was strong in her Catholic faith and she lived it every day. Anna was also a member of the Transfiguration Rosary Society. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Michael Poklembo; a sister, Veronica Pochinsky; a sister-in-law, Irene Poklembo; and three brothers-in-law, John H. Pochinsky Sr., George Soflak and George Palcic. She is survived by two sisters, Martha Soflak Palcic, of Mammoth, and Dorothy Curci, of Mammoth; and two brothers, Kenneth Poklembo and his wife, Marlene, of Mammoth, and Edward "Jack" Poklembo and his wife Mary "Marie", of Stahlstown. Anna was a beloved aunt and great-aunt to numerous nieces and nephews and she was a godmother to many godchildren in the family. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 406 E. Washington St., Mt. Pleasant, where a blessing service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will follow in Transfiguration Cemetery. A parish wake service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday and the Transfiguration Rosary Society will recite the rosary at 6 p.m. Friday, both in the funeral home.
