Debra Grimm Obituary

Debra Long Grimm, 50, of Hopwood, died Friday, March 16, 2007, at home after a courageous battle with ALS -- Lou Gehrigs Disease. She was born April 12, 1956, in Uniontown, a daughter of Richard and Peggy Reynolds Long. Debbie graduated from Laurel Highlands High School with the Class of 1974. She worked with the State Theatre as a secretary and accounting coordinator and had been a bookkeeper for many years with Smith Lewis Chess & Co. LLP. Debbie will always be remembered for always having a smile on her face and her ability to make everyone she came in touch with also to smile. She loved to read, bake and work with her flowers. Debra was preceded in death by an infant brother, Ross Long. In addition to her parents, Debbie is survived by her husband, Richard Grimm; a daughter, who was the light of her life, Annie Brown, of Pittsburgh; a brother, Daniel Long and his wife, Maureen, of Lemont Furnace; a sister, Linda Long Collins and her husband, John, of Connellsville; and her two special nieces, Amanda and Emily Collins; three step-children, several step-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins and all who knew her dearly. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2007, in the COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, Evans Manor, with the Rev. Roger Howard officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to the Community United Methodist Church, 1264 West Penn Boulevard, Uniontown, PA 15401 or to ALS, One Station Square, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
