Joshua Byrd Obituary

Joshua Samuel Byrd, formerly of McKeesport, died Monday, July 7, 2014, and was reunited with his wife, Gloria. Joshua was born May 11, 1929, in McKeesport, to Lena and Joshua Byrd; and was the husband of the late Gloria Wilson. Joshua was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the art of fishing whenever he had the chance. Additionally, he loved playing keno and only played a certain set of numbers. Those special numbers throughout the years proved to be his lucky numbers. Joshua will always be remembered by the twinkle in his eyes, a twinkle identical to his twin brother, Paul. Joshua leaves behind to cherish his memories his brother, Paul C. Byrd, of Las Vegas, Nev.; sisters, Josephine Cager and Betty Fleming, of Pennsylvania; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Joshua was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Byrd; parents, Lena and Joshua Byrd; siblings, Xnalo West, Alberta Johnson, Celeste Campbell, Emma Baker and Elmer Byrd; sisters-in-law, Bessie Byrd and Nora Byrd; brothers-in-law, Homer Jones, James Campbell, William West, Gerald Baker and William Fleming. The family of Joshua S. Byrd would like to thank you for your many acts of kindness and prayers during our time of sorrow. God bless you.
