Richard Reid Obituary

Richard "Dick" Reid of Monroeville passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 27, 2025. He was born June 4, 1932, in Monessen, the son of the late Willard and Margaret (Flack) Reid. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Mae (Ramsey) Reid; as well as his second wife, Sherry Arline (Moore) Reid; and his son, Scott (surviving wife, Lynnann) Reid. Dick was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a corporal during the Korean War. He moved to Monroeville after his service, where he attended Carnegie Tech and began his long-running business career for United States Steel and Westinghouse. He later began a second career as a realtor for Coldwell Banker. Dick was an active member of Garden City United Methodist Church. He enjoyed watching the Steelers play football, playing golf, and spending time with his family and friends at the Wooden Nickel. Surviving are his children, Craig Reid (Carol) and Traci Caldwell (Peter); stepdaughters, Hope Pingree and Shawn Merritt (Charlie); 12 grandchildren, Angela, Holly, Jocelyn, Alexander, Sydney, Shelby, Daniele, Erica, Samantha, Bobbie, Sarah, and Charlie; and eight great-grandchildren, Tyson, Frank, Payton Levi, Remington, Raegen, Walker, and Oaklynn. Family and friends were received from 2 pm to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, 2025, at JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY INC. (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL), 445 Beatty Road, Monroeville (412-856-4747), where a blessing service was held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2025. Private interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park.
