Andrew Duncan Obituary

Andrew J. Duncan, 84, of Export, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, in UPMC Shadyside. He was born Nov. 18, 1919, in East Pittsburgh (Oak Hill), a son of the late Andrew and Ida Belle Baughman Duncan. Mr. Duncan was a World War II Navy veteran and was a retired tool and die maker at Westinghouse, East Pittsburgh plant, after 40 years of service. He was a member of Emmanuel Reformed United Church of Christ in Export, where he served as a deacon, an elder, a trustee and treasurer and was a charter member of the Men's Brotherhood, and was a member of the Export American Legion. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanne Beverly (Duncan) Remaley; a brother, John Duncan and his wife, Clara (Sheffel); and four sisters, Valeria (Duncan) and husband, Jack Power, Elizabeth (Duncan) and husband, Paul Ginther, Ida Bell (Duncan) and her husband, Howard Goldrick, and Carrie Mae Duncan. Surviving is his loving wife, Mabel Leona (Kemerer) Duncan, with whom he celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary last April. Loving father of Patricia Ann Duncan, of Export, (Andrew) James Duncan Jr., of Las Vegas, Nev., Donald Wayne Duncan, of Pittsburgh, and Doreen Marie (Duncan) Weishorn and her husband, Robin, of Murrysville. Loving grandfather of David Remaley, Adam Remaley, Jeffrey Duncan, Christine Weishorn, Denise Duncan, Brandy Weishorn, Jennifer (Duncan) Legler, Danyel Weishorn and Julia Duncan. Loving great-grandfather of Jacob Remaley. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the WOLFE-VON GEIS FUNERAL HOME INC., 5701 Lincoln Ave., Export, 724-327-1400, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A prayer service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 11 a.m., followed by services at the Emmanuel Reformed United Church of Christ (Hill's Church), Export, at 11:30 a.m. www.Wolfe-VonGeis.com
