Anne M. Schuerer

Anna Marie Schuerer (nee Sabak) age 93, of Monroeville, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 09, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Eberhard 'Duke' Schuerer for 55 years; loving mother of Nanette (Schuerer) Mancuso (husband Anthony), David Schuerer (wife Kendra), and Douglas Schuerer (wife Nikoleta); dear grandmother of Victor Mancuso and Marianna Mancuso, Nina Schuerer, Charlotte Schuerer and Clara Schuerer, sister of the late John Sabak. She was born in McKeesport, PA, to John Sabak and Mary Sabak (nee Jackulic). She graduated from McKeesport High School and was one of the first females to earn a scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in education. Anna started her career as an elementary teacher at Level Green Elementary School. After raising her family, she continued her career as a preschool teacher at Cross Roads Presbyterian Church. She was a dedicated member of St. Michael's church in McKeesport. Friends will be received 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24 at the GENE H. CORL FUNERAL CHAPEL INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES OF MONROEVILLE, 4335 Northern Pike (412-372-2100). Funeral service will be held at St. Michael's church located at 424 Ninth Street, McKeesport, PA 15132 on Saturday, Jan 25 at 10:00 a.m.. Interment to follow at Mount Vernon Cemetery, 2300 Greenock Buena Vista Rd., McKeesport. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition.
