Augusta Holstein Obituary

Augusta M. "Gusty" Holstein, 95, of Black Lick, died passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at her home peacefully. She was born April 24, 1917, in West Kittanning (Jefferson County), a daughter of Arthur Coy and Bessie (Shaffer) Coy. Gusty was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Black Lick, where she was a deacon for many years. For 60 some years, Gusty and her husband owned and operated the Red and White Store in Black Lick. Survivors include a daughters, Donna J. McNutt and husband, Lee, of Lady Lake, Fla., Rebecca Hanna and husband, James, of Lancaster, and Sandra A. Libengood and husband, Paul, of Greensburg; son, Emerson James Holstein, of Black Lick; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Lorraine Getty and husband, James, of Indiana, and Mary Thompson and husband, John, of Indiana. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Emerson Holstein, who died in 1989; her brother, Norman Coy; and sisters, Clarissa Archer and Bessie Brown. Visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013, at JAMES F. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., Blairsville. Funeral at 11 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at the funeral home. The Rev. Timothy Monroe will officiate. Interment in Oakland Cemetery, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Presbyterian Church, P.O.
