Betty H. Byers

1930 - 2023

Betty H. Byers, 92, of Derry, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 30, 2023, in Excela Latrobe Hospital. She was born Oct. 11, 1930, in New Derry, the daughter of the late Clyde and Jennie Bradley Henderson. Betty was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Derry and always loved being around family and carrying on all the family holiday traditions. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Wayne I. Henderson; grandson, Trey Skiff; and her son-in-law, Stephen J. Cinibulk. She is survived by her beloved husband of 71 years, Edward G. Byers; her sons, Patrick E. Byers (JoAnne), of Derry, and Michael A. Byers (Heidi), of Hillside; her daughters, Janet Skiff (Rod), of Spartansburg, and Donna Cinibulk (companion Denny), of Loyalhanna; six grandchildren, Allison Skiff, Hailey and Cassie Byers, Lori Tedesco (Travis), and Timothy and Arthur Martin Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Zia Tedesco, Kyle, and Kellie Jo and Rileigh Martin; special nephew, Wayne Henderson (Dale); and several other nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Third Ave., Derry where a service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday with her pastor, the Rev. William A. Schaefer officiating. Interment will follow at the Coles Cemetery. Special thanks to all of Betty's caregivers at Mt. View Senior Living.
