Carl Knopsnyder Obituary

Carl E. Knopsnyder, 85, of Bovard, passed away Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born in Greensburg, Sept. 7, 1924, and was a son of the late John and Hazel Miller Knopsnyder. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Westmoreland County Community College in Youngwood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Brant Knopsnyder; and a brother, John Knopsnyder. Carl is survived by his two sons, Carl B. Knopsnyder and wife, Eugenia, of Greensburg, and Paul D. Knopsnyder and wife, Dorothy (Jolly), of Greensburg; and three grandchildren, Paul R. Knopsnyder and Amanda Carlucci and husband, Justin, all of Greensburg, and Nicole Fry and husband, Marc, of Greensburg. He loved to talk about his great-grandchildren, Dylan, Bailey and Brayden Fry and Brett and Lily Carlucci. Also survived by his friend, Beverly Tomaso. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 N. Main St., Greensburg. Additional visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Harrold Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 671 Baltzer Meyer Pike, Greensburg, followed by a service in the church with Pastor Robert Free officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association. Terence L.
