Carol L. Gradler

1932 - 2022

Carol Lorraine (Fox) Gradler, 89, of Mt. Pleasant, died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022, in Findlay, Ohio. She was born Dec. 28, 1932, the daughter of the late Wilmer E. and Eliza (O'Donnell) Fox. Mrs. Gradler was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant, where she often volunteered, but most notable were her years spent teaching second grade CCD classes and her active membership in the church choir. Carol was a 1950 graduate of Ramsay High School and then went on to obtain her degree from Indiana University of PA in 1954. She began her career as an elementary school teacher, working for the Connellsville School District from 1954 until 1958. Carol then joined her husband, Jack, and his parents at the Gradler Studio of Photography. In 1973, she and Jack purchased the business and then operated it until 1994. Carol's friendly personality and smile will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Carol is survived by her son, Frank A. Gradler and his wife, Dolores, of Greensburg, her daughter, Dr. Mary Beth Dillon and her husband, Dr. Thomas H. Dillon, of Findlay, Ohio, and by her eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack" Gradler, in 2003, and by her brothers, Wilmer E. Fox Jr. in 2004, and Donnell H. Fox in 2019. Family and friends will be received from 4 until 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, 2022, at the GALONE-CARUSO FUNERAL HOME, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant. All are invited to attend Carol's funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 10, 2022, in St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Summit St., Mt. Pleasant. Interment will be private. The family wishes to thank the hospice team from Bridge Home Health and Hospice in Findlay, Ohio, for their compassionate care and assistance.
