David Harp Obituary

David L. Harp Jr., 55, of Latrobe, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Aug. 11, 2025. He was born Nov. 6, 1969, in Altoona, a son of the late David Harp Sr. and Patty (Derr) Harp. David was employed as the manager at Lowe's of Latrobe and spent 29 years with the company. A graduate of Penn State University, David was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, was an avid reader, and was a member of the SCA fighting. He is survived by his wife, Tammy (Armel) Harp of Latrobe; his sister, Stephanie Tinker (Steve) and their children, Ethan and Aiden of Pittsburgh; his stepchildren, Ashley Ferry (John) and her children, Kasey, Carson, and Madilyn of Blairsville; Samantha Alvarez Harp (Luis) and their children, Rafael, Leonel, Elena, and Dantel of Irwin; Stanley Ferry (Lacy) and their daughter, Mia of Latrobe; Brandon Ferry and his son, Alpha of Indiana; and Christopher Ferry (Erica) and their children, Gracelyn and Caleb of Latrobe; and his mother-in-law, Connie Armel. There will be no public visitations. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of David's life, beginning at noon, on Sunday, Aug. 17, at the Harp residence at 105 Frank Cir., Latrobe, PA 15650. Interment is private.
