Donna M. Nichelson

1962 - 2025

Donna Marie Nichelson, 62, of Normalville, passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Dec. 21, 1962, in Kecksburg, a daughter of the late Donald W. and Lillian Elsie Pospisil Hays. Donna had worked as a cake decorator for the former Warehouse Grocery and Giant Eagle Grocery Store. She later on worked as the Head of Maintenance at the Roaring Run Resort in Champion for many years. Donna loved the outdoors and enjoyed doing arts and crafts, but most of all she loved being with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt to her family and will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her children, Jessica Thorpe of Normalville, Brian Hays of Camp Hill, PA, Amber Nichelson of Normalville, Sarah Shroyer of Normalville, and Crystal Hays of Mill Run; her 13 grandchildren; her 12 great-grandchildren; her siblings, John Hays of Weedville, PA, David Hays of Normalville, Mark Hays of Punxsutawney, Douglas Hays of Saltsburg, Joanne Beatty of Latrobe, Diane Walat of Hampton, VA, and Debra Smith of Ligonier; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Donna was predeceased by her sister, Kimberly D. Nichelson; and her brothers, James and Kevin Hays. Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the hour of a memorial service, on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025, in MARK C. BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., at the corner of Route 711 and 146 Municipal Building Road, Melcroft (724-455-2310). Interment will be private. Memorial donations may be made to Mark C.
