Janet Stemmerich Obituary

Janet Claire Stemmerich, 71, of Jeannette, formerly of Export, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, in Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville, after a long struggle with chronic illness. She was born July 24, 1933, in Vandergrift, a daughter of the late William James Patterson and Anna Grace Caldwell Patterson. Janet was a member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Greensburg and the Delmont Women's Club, where she once served as president, vice president and treasurer. She retired from GenCorp, where she worked as a payroll clerk. Surviving Janet are her husband, Roy Stemmerich, of 43 years; children, R. Curtis and wife, Susan Stemmerich, of Trafford, Lori and husband, Robert Lee, of Medford, Wis., and Gary and wife, Kelly Stemmerich, of Greensburg; two sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Florence) Rainey, of Apollo, and Mrs. Martin (Sue) Zidek, of Fredericksburg, Va.; and five grandchildren, Collin, Jacob, Cassidy, Alex and Nathan Stemmerich. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC., 463 Athena Drive, Delmont. Janet's funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Greensburg, with Pastor Roy Dail officiating. There will be a final viewing at the church preceding the service at 10 a.m. EVERYONE IS ASKED TO MEET AT THE CHURCH. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
