Jeffrey E. Eicher

Jeffrey Errol Eicher, 46, of Seattle, Wash., died Sunday, May 19, 2013, in Seattle, after a brief series of heart problems. Born June 23, 1966, in Latrobe, he grew up in Trauger, Mt. Pleasant Township, the son of Ruth Evelyn Eicher and the late Raymond E. Eicher. Jeff attended Mt. Pleasant High School, received his bachelor's degree in Economics and Social Science in 1989 and his Master of Arts Degree in Communication and Theatre in 1991 from California University of Pennsylvania. After graduation, Jeff accepted a position there as an assistant program director in the fine arts. In 1995 Jeff moved to Seattle, taking positions as production manager for the Bathhouse Theater, and then as an account executive for The Production Network, which he held from 1998 until the present. Jeff loved life. He had a broad interest in the arts and had an encyclopedic knowledge of music, movies and entertainment. He traveled extensively with his partner, Ron, and enjoyed their pets, Saffie, Bing and Basil. Jeff will be remembered for his one of a kind sense of humor, quick wit and booming laugh. He was respected and loved, often referred to as "the master" in his field, and was a brother to his many friends. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his partner of 17 years, Ronald L. Maier; two sisters, Pamela Cackowski and her partner, Janet M. Kendra, and their daughter, Daniela Kendra, and Cheryl L. Eicher Shipley; nephews, Matthew Cackowski, and his wife, Amy, and their daughter, Marissa, Chad Shipley and his wife,Stacy, and their children, Gavin and Bria; and a large extended family and circle of friends. Family and friends will be received from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the GAUT-BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity, at which time a memorial service will be held.
