John Ed Obituary

John "Gary" Ed III, also known to some as "J.G.," 48, of Irwin, passed away Monday, Dec. 18, 2023, at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 10, 1975, in Greensburg, the son of John Gary (fiancee Linda Edinger) Ed II and Linda (Jim) Reynolds. He was a member of Cornerstone Ministries in Murrysville. Gary worked as a financial advisor for more than 14 years with Reynolds Financial Group in Irwin and was a member of the Asset Marketing Group in San Diego, Calif. He and his wife were the owners of Divine Consign. He also enjoyed helping the Norwin Elks with their car cruise each Father's Day. One of his biggest joys in life was being PPop to his two grandchildren. Being humble and servant-hearted are the two things that anyone who met him would say about him. A shocking diagnosis, after living a healthy lifestyle, led to an amazing journey over the last two years. His story isn't to be remembered by a sickness, but by his journey of "Unshakable Faith," living his life devoted to his faith in Jesus. He believed in "Rising Up" every day, despite any circumstances. He taught everyone he met how to live life with love and compassion, even when it wasn't easy. His life's purpose of sharing his passion for Jesus, the love for his wife, family, and friends, and his zeal for life, will live on in the legacy he leaves behind, knowing we will all meet again and dance in Heaven's fields of gold. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Alexis Smith. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of more than nine years, Diana M. Ed; children, Julian (fiance Jen) Smith, of Florida, and Sydney (Nick) Smith, of Irwin; grandchildren, Liliana and Ellie Mae; sister, Dana (Daniel) Kaminske, of North Carolina; and stepbrothers, Jimmy Reynolds, of Greensburg, and Michael Edinger, of West Virginia. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, 724-863-1200. A celebration service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Word of Life Church in Greensburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Ministries, 2200 Cornerstone Lane, Murrysville, PA 15632. For online condolences, please visit www.snyderfuneralservices.com.
