Joseph W. Trathen

Joseph William Trathen, 91, of Greensburg, died on his birthday, Tuesday, April 09, 2024, in the Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. He was born in Jeannette, a son of the late Gordon and Dorothy Leaver Trathen. Joseph spent his career as a Laboratory Specialist with General Tire in the Plastics Lab for 42 years. He was an original member of the Seneca Club, Jeannette, a local member of the American Legion and a veteran of the United States Army. He was also an avid outdoorsman, loved woodworking and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gary Trathen; a son-in-law, Joseph DeBone; and siblings, Fanny Wolfe, and Richard Trathen. Joseph is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 69 years, Marlene E. O'Hearn Trathen; a daughter, Dorothy 'Dot' DeBone of Greensburg; grandchildren, Alexandra Manley (Matthew) and Joseph 'Jake' DeBone all of Greensburg; great-grandchildren, Julian, Reese, and Cohen Manley; many cousins, lifelong friends, and extended DeBone family. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Joseph, Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of services, in the CLEMENT L. PATNTALONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 409 W.
