Joyce Snyder Obituary

Joyce Louise Snyder, 84, loving wife and mother of two, passed away Friday, May 28, 2021. Joyce was born Nov. 18, 1936, in Dawson, a daughter of the late Russell and Fanny (King) Baird. On Sept. 1, 1956, she was married to John Nicolas Snyder. He preceded her in death on June 25, 2017. Together they raised two children, Jeffrey Neal and Jacqueline Lisa, in Scottdale. Joyce was employed with Nickles Bakery for over 30 years at various locations in Pittsburgh. She was an avid traveler, visiting multiple places throughout the United States, Europe, Jerusalem and parts of the Middle East. Joyce was also a devout Christian, with her faith taking her to many different churches for discussion and learning and continuing to educate herself within her beliefs. She was a great conversationalist, had a quick wit, a kind and compassionate spirit and had a tremendous love for her family. Joyce was preceded in death by her father, Russell; and her mother, Fanny; as well as her husband, John. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Neal; daughter, Jacqueline Lisa; son-in-law, Robert Brigman; daughter-in-law, Donna Snyder; grandson, Patrick; her two siblings; brother, William Baird; sister, Cheryl Baird; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Joyce's final wishes were for a simple, family-only gathering. She will be buried at Barren Run Cemetery in Smithton. Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B.
