Julian Colaizzi Obituary

Julian D. "Jul" Colaizzi, 91, of Latrobe, formerly of Baldwin Township, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024. He was born Dec. 23, 1932, in Homewood, a son of the late Joseph and Antoinette (DeVito) Colaizzi. Jul served his country in the U.S. Army, during the Korean War and prior to retirement, he was a mail carrier for over 20 years. He enjoyed watching Steelers and Penguins games and working in his garden with his loving wife, Jean "Cookie". In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman and Robert Colaizzi. He is survived by his beloved wife of over 65 years, Jean (Jacko) "Cookie" Colaizzi; his son, Joseph Colaizzi (Debra); three granddaughters: Kayla Colaizzi (Filipe DeCarli), Olivia Altman (Eric), and Brisa Janiszewski (Rob); two great-grandchildren Leo and George Altman; and many nieces and nephews. Friends and family are welcome to attend a funeral Mass on Thursday, July 18 at 10 a.m. in the St. John Capistran Church, 1610 McMillan Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15241. Full military honors will be accorded immediately following Mass outside of the church. Private interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
