Louise Simpson Obituary

Louise M. (Casciere) Simpson, 81, of Loyalhanna Township, passed away Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Born Feb. 8, 1933, in Tunnelton, she was a daughter of the late Dominic and Columba (Ercole) Casciere. Louise lived in Loyalhanna Township for more than 40 years, and was a 1950 graduate of Saltsburg High School. She helped her husband, Marshall, with his many businesses. Louise was a member of St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church in Saltsburg and the Silver Sneakers. She loved bingo, gambling and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall James Simpson; son, Dennis Michael Simpson; and sisters, Lucy Shaffer and Pauline Brooks. She is survived by her sons, Donald J. (Linda) Simpson, of Loyalhanna Township, Mark A. Simpson, of Loyalhanna Township, and Gary W. (Tina) Simpson, of Loyalhanna Township; daughter-in-law, Beverly Simpson, of Greensburg; grandchildren, Donald (Stephanie) Simpson, of Nowrytown, Michael (Nikki) Simpson, of Blairsville, James (Angie) Simpson, of Saltsburg, Angie (John) Evanichko, of Saltsburg, Kristen Simpson, of Loyalhanna Township, and Michelle Simpson, of Loyalhanna Township; great-grandchildren, Michaela, Mariah, Zachary, Makenzie, Macie, Kaitlyn and Nathan Simpson and Gavin and Gage Evanichko; sister, Dora (Casper) Yankuskie, of Saltsburg; brothers, Frank (Shirley) Casciere, of North East, Pa., and Michael (Linda) Casciere, of Saltsburg; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special acknowledgement of gratitude to family friend Brandon Brendlinger for the exemplary care for Louise and compassion for the Simpson family. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014, in the CURRAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 701 Salt St., Saltsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, at St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church with Father Salvatore Lamendola as celebrant. Interment in Unity Cemetery, Latrobe. Memorial contributions may be made in Louise's memory to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
