Madelon Mulcahey Obituary

Madelon G. Mulcahey, 99, of Uniontown, PA, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 17, 2025. She was born Dec. 3, 1925, in Uniontown. Preceding her in death were her husband, Paul V. Mulcahey; her parents, Charles Geisler and Mary (Nypaver) Geisler; and her sister, Mary Catherine Geisler. Madelon was a member of St. John the Evangelist RC Church and a graduate of Hunter College. She had worked as an executive assistant prior to working in the Fayette County Prothonotary's Office, from which she retired. In Madge's 99 years, she was able to enjoy life in Florida, New York, and New Jersey, and finally she and Paul moved back to her hometown to raise their family. While in New York, she pursued a career at Revlon, working for the founder, Charles Revson, and doing some modeling for skin care manuals. Madge was known for her love of westerns, horses, musical theater, and singing. She could always be found with a songbook close by, enjoying a good sing-along with anyone who would join in. Madge and her sister Kay enjoyed a good cocktail, introducing friends and family to her famous 'killer Manhattans.' She was a spirited, independent soul who made friends wherever she went. Left to cherish her memory are her four children: Paul Mulcahey (Rosemary), of Cecil, PA, Marianne Pluta (Thomas, deceased), of Chevy Chase, MD, Madelon Mulcahey, of Chevy Chase, MD, and Megan Pedicone (Gary), of Export, PA; granddaughter, Rosemary Anne Mulcahey (John Beaumont); and the lovable Charley Cat. The family wishes to thank Theresa and Lauren from Bridges Hospice for their dedication and care. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m., on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, in the SHELL FUNERAL HOME INC., 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA, and until 9:30 a.m., on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, when Prayers of Transfer will be said, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist RC Church, 50 Jefferson St., Uniontown, PA. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Macrina Cemetery. Madge requested that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Hospital (www.stjude.org), or Running Strong (Indianyouth.org).
