Margaret Burkey Obituary

Margaret G. (Welch) Burkey, 75, of Mt. Pleasant RD7 (East Huntingdon Township), passed away Monday morning, Jan. 28, 2002, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. Margaret was born Jan. 23, 1927, in Smithton, a daughter of the late Bryan S. and Margaret Spotosky Welch. She was a member of the River of Life Church, Greensburg. Margaret was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who will be sadly missed by her surviving family: two daughters, Mrs. Jan M. (Linda) Turis and Mrs. Richard (Roiann) Pawlikowsky, both of Scottdale; two grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn and Jordan James Pawlikowsky; two brothers, Lewis H. Welch and wife, Lucy, and Robert W. Welch and wife, Lois, both of Scottdale; three sisters-in law, Frances Felgar Welch of Smithton RD1, Joanne Bollinger Welch of Connellsville RD1 and Evelyn Kostik of Woodcrest; her special friend, Roy Smith of Dawson RD1; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, James Roy Burkey, on Jan. 6, 1977; and three brothers, Sergeant Dallas Welch, who was killed in action in Germany during World War II, Bryan W. Welch on March 16, 1995 and Willis P. Welch on July 21, 1996. Family and friends will be received at the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 Spring St., Scottdale, 724-887-5300, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Service will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Sheldon Moore officiating. Chapel committal service and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Bullskin Township. The family suggests memorials to the River of Life Church, 216 S.
