Mark Krystyniak Obituary

Mark E. Krystyniak, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away unexpectedly, at his home, Saturday, April 2, 2022. He was born May 16, 1955, in Mt. Pleasant, and was married to Kathryn Haughney Krystyniak. Mark was the son of Margaret R. Krystyniak, of Acme, and the late John P. Krystyniak, who died in October 1994. Mark attended Transfiguration Elementary School, Kiski Prep, Geibel High School and graduated from Saint Vincent College with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He loved hunting, skeet shooting, fishing, playing basketball games with peers, playing cards and watching popular athletic events with his friends and family. Mark initiated and operated several local businesses, including The Krystyniak Colonial Bakery, Pop N' Brew and MK Rentals, but later focused on real estate sales and development. He participated in many community events, such as Project Bundle-Up and the Mt. Pleasant Glass and Ethnic Festival. Mark was a very active member of St. Pius X Church, Knights of Columbus and St. Vincent de Paul Society. He earned his real estate broker's license and operated the Hometowne Real Estate office in Mt. Pleasant, later joining Howard Hanna Real Estate services. Mark is survived by his wife of 35 years, Kathryn; and sons, John R. Krystyniak and his wife, Christina, of Simsbury, Conn., and Joseph A. Krystyniak, of Washington, Pa. Mark is survived by his mother, Margaret R. Krystyniak; sister, Theresa K. Gerson, of Toronto, Canada; brother, John A. Krystyniak, of Acme; and sister, Patricia K. Murray and her husband, Dennis, of Colorado Springs, Colo. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John P. Krystyniak; and his brother, Paul D. Krystyniak. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 18, at the GALONE-CARUSO FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Pleasant. Mark's funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant. Everyone is asked to please meet at the church. Entombment will be in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mark may be made to the Clelian Heights School, Greensburg, at www.clelianheights.org, or a charity of your choice, in Mark's name.
