Matthew Dean Hewitt, 24, of Hempfield Township, our beloved son and friend, was taken to be with the Lord on his birthday, Saturday, June 21, 2003, after sustaining fatal injuries in a vehicular accident. He was born June 21, 1979, in Greensburg, a son of Gary and Carol (Dineff) Hewitt, of Hempfield Township. Matthew was fun-loving and caring, and loved life and his family and friends with all his heart. He was a 1998 graduate of Hempfield Area High School, and was continuing his education at Westmoreland County Community College. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Heather Ceara Hewitt Reagan and her husband, Corey, of Jeannette; his paternal grandfather, Oscar Dean Hewitt, of Laughlintown; his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Sophie (Gatseff) Dineff, of Deer Lakes; several aunts, uncles and cousins; his girlfriend, Francesca DiPiazza, of Greensburg; and many close friends, including Jared Demi, of Hempfield Township, one of his oldest and dearest friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Carmella Hewitt. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JOHN V.
