Michelle Detore Obituary

Michelle B. Detore, 32, of Greensburg, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 11, 1982, in Brooklyn, N.Y., a beloved daughter to Wendy Pollack Bonnice and the late Richard J. Bonnice. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Max and Mildred Pollack; and paternal grandparents, John and Frances Bonnice. Michelle graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, where she was the editor-in-chief of the Insider Newspaper. She was the principle at the KARAT school of learning and also worked as an English teacher at Greensburg Central Catholic. She was an accomplished writer and singer who loved to dance and travel. Michelle is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Rennie; her sister, Cara Bonnice, of Greensburg; aunt and uncle, Audrey and Robert Miranda, of Staten Island, N.Y.; her in-laws, Rennie and Carmelita Detore, of Greensburg; sister-in-law, Rachel and her husband, Eric Schmadel, of Greensburg, and their daughters, Lily, Lena and Lucy, all of whom Michelle loved very much. She is also survived by a host of loving coworkers and friends. A celebration of Michelle's life will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at Greensburg Alliance Church.
