Parker O'Shell Obituary

Parker O'Shell, born April 12, 2006, passed away suddenly Friday, Dec. 9, 2022, at his home from complications of his seizure diagnosis. He was 16 years old. Proud, loving, hard-working and unapologetically himself are ways he will be remembered by his family and closest friends. Parker always knew right from wrong, and always chose to do the right thing. He didn't hide from hard work or a long day of grinding it out as a goal was always on his mind. Parker knew who he wanted to be and boy, he was well on his way. From as soon as anyone would let him, he got a job and was working away. He started washing dishes at a family friends, restaurant, Jaffres, in Greensburg as well as volunteered his time at the local fire department. Being a fire fighter was a lifelong passion and he has always ready to help anyone. As his desire to be a mister fix-it grew and his skill sharpened he was able to get a job with a local construction company, BZ Construction, and then took a job at Proscape. He was also a former member of Boy Scout Troop 480 and was elected to the Order of the Arrow among other accomplishments. He loved working and learning and appreciated the fact that this country was built by skillful people, putting their heads down and getting it done "the old fashion way." Parker was a student of Hempfield Area High School and attended Central Westmoreland CTC. He was an excellent vocational student. His first year, he worked on his craft of welding, followed by this year in the lineman program. His teachers always bragged about his ambition and work ethic. While being stubborn in his ways for getting things done, he had a soft side for those he loved. When Parker cared for you, he truly took care of you. He loved being the man of the house and helping his mom with the chores and watching over his two younger brothers. His future goal was to have a large piece of land where he would start a homestead and take care of his family. Parker will be dearly missed by his family and friends, especially his two younger brothers that looked up to him in every way. He will leave Reece with the thought that with hard work, you can accomplish anything and Landon with his now-handed-down passion and information about the Titanic. Parker will be forever remembered and loved by his mother, Jenna Reamer O'Shell; and his siblings, Reece and Landon; as well as his grandparents, Peg and Elmer Reamer, Uncle Rob, Aunt Daris and his cousins, Luna and London and many more. Also survived and remembered by his father and Pappy, Scott and Charles O'Shell; Uncle Chad, Uncle Norm and Aunt Marge; cousins Laura and Kadi, among many others. If you would like to say a final goodbye, viewing will be at the New Stanton Fire Department from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2022, with the fire department service at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022 at 11 a.m. with a viewing offered before at 10 a.m. Arrangements made by the C. RICHARD MCCAULEY FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the New Stanton fire department, and we ask you to make some special time outdoors with loved ones in Parker's memory.

I knew Parker all through Elementary School before we went to different Middle Schools. He was a great friend. I remember him as kind, generous, caring friend with a sense of humor and thoughtful spirit. I will always remember him and the friendship we shared during those years. Sean Smith
