Thomas J. Madatic

Thomas Jared Madatic, 44, of Fredericksburg, Va., passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024. He was born Aug. 29, 1979, in Latrobe, the oldest son of M. Jeanne (Mekic) Madatic, of King George, Va., and the late Thomas Mark Madatic. Jared graduated from King George High School with an advanced degree, attended Radford College and finished his degree at Germanna, with an associate's in business management. Following graduation, he was employed in the food service industry. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, in King George, Va. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, "Mommom" Margaret (Harris) Mekic; his paternal grandparents, Steve and Florence Madatic; his cousin, Christopher Ronald Farley; uncles, John "Jack" Mekic and Stevie Madatic; and aunts, Rosemary Madatic Sauls (Charles) and Shirley Marckioni (Warren). In addition to his mother, he is survived by his beloved brothers, Jed Matthew Madatic and Jacob Ian Madatic; aunts and uncles, Patricia Mekic-Farley (Malcolm "Yogi"), Linda A. Mekic, John Madatic (Elaine) Ted Madatic, Michael "Mik" Madatic (Deb), Jane Madatic Green (Larry), Virginia "Ginger" Madatic and Dave Davis. He is also survived by many cousins, John Mekic, Charles Sauls (Nicole), Tracey Sauls, Doug Sauls (Lori), Marci Rome (Byron), Jason Madatic (Ashley), Lindsay Madatic, Brian Madatic, Lisa Madatic Null (Chris), April Madatic Carrino (Tim), Holly Riley-Doerflein (Robby), Amanda Riley Holly (Mike), Matthew Green (Joelle), Jessica Green Soltis (Andrew), Vince Marckioni and Scott Marckioni (Monica). Friends will be received from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024, in the HARTMAN-GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 1500 Ligonier St., Latrobe. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, in the funeral home chapel. Private interment will be in Unity Cemetery next to his father.
