Wilma Myers Obituary

Wilma Jean (Ullery) Myers, of Scottdale, went on to her eternal glory in Jesus Christ on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023. Jean, as she liked to be called, was born June 16, 1932, to Mildred and Wilbert Ullery, who unfortunately passed away six months before her birth in 1931. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, Hugh Echard. During her high school years, Jean received great pleasure working at the local newspaper as a typesetter. She would often share stories and loved to reminisce about those days. Jean married the love of her life, Raymond C. Myers, on May 29, 1951 and proceeded to make a beautiful life for them and their four children who benefited from her loving and nurturing care until her final days. Jean was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Scottdale. She was a member of the Lutheran ladies group, LCW, and was active as a greeter, reader and organizer of funeral meals and the church rummage sale for years at St. Paul's. Jean was also a founding and lifetime member of the Kingview Ladies Club and was active in that community for years. Jean loved music and in her later years learned to play the piano. She was an avid reader, enjoyed singing and was skilled at knitting and crocheting. She made many blankets and gifts for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jean lived in Scottdale all of her life until 2021 when she moved to an assisted living facility in Dover. She was a sweet and wonderful woman who will be greatly missed by many. Her family is deeply saddened by her loss but is assured that she is with her savior, Jesus Christ and her beloved husband. She leaves behind her four children, Beverly Guengerich and husband, Galen, Buzz Myers and wife, Wendy, Gary Myers and wife, Becky, and Joyce Lochinger and husband, Shawn; her five grandchildren, David (Michelle) Guengerich, Beth (Derek) Burleigh, David (Meagan) Kusinsky, Jenna (Victor) Bench and Shay Lochinger; and her eight great-grandchildren, Hezekiah and Boaz Guengerich, Luke, Noah and Josiah Burleigh, Rafael Kusinsky and Emilia and Oliver Bench. Also left behind are her sister, Maureen Gower; her brother, Sherwood (Charlene) Echard; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond C. Myers on Dec. 28, 2002 and her sister, Bernetha Pritts on Oct. 20, 2023. Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 Spring St., Scottdale. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Kevin Anderson officiating. Chapel committal services and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park. Love Lasts Forever!
