Albert S. Majiros

Albert S. Majiros, 93, of Shaler, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, at St. Margaret's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born Sept. 14, 1932, in Nanticoke, he was predeceased by his father, Andrew; his mother, Mary Helen; siblings, Joseph, Helen, and Marie; and by the love of his life, his wife, Constance (Whitling), of 40 years. Al is survived by his three children, Lynn Gallagher (Edward) of Shaler, Albert "Skip" Majiros (Alicia) of Irwin, and Michael Majiros (Tracy) of Plum. Also surviving are his six grandchildren, Kelly Gallagher-Friend (Gregory); Marissa Slopek (Travis); Ryan Gallagher (Regina); Riley Maghery (Tyler); Aaron Majiros (Erin); and Kelsey Majiros (Jake); three great-grandchildren blessing him this year, Jamie Gallagher, Myla Mae Slopek, and Jax Maghery; as well as many nieces and nephews. Prior to his retirement, Al worked at U.S. Steel and then as a supervisor at PPG Paints. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Al lived a full life and was a sports enthusiast, especially a fan of his beloved Pirates. He was extremely handy and never met a project he couldn't tackle. Later in life he developed a passion and talent for building jigsaw puzzles. He especially loved the Christmas season while decorating with his extensive Byers' Choice Carolers collection. He was a wonderful father and doting grandfather, as his family was the center of his life. A true gentle giant. The family would like to thank the awesome people at Shaler/Hampton EMS, Medi-Home Health, and St. Margaret's Hospital, who provided amazing care over the past few years. There will be no public visitation at the request of the family. Private interment will be at Plum Creek Cemetery at a later date.
