Andrew Banas Obituary

Andrew J. Banas Jr., 70, of Shadyside, formerly of Penn Hills, died Saturday (May 25, 2002) at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born July 2, 1931, in Chicago. Mr. Banas was a self-employed builder of Admiral Builders before retiring. He was a member of the Masons, North Hills, and the Builders Association. Survivors include three sons, Andrew R. Banas of Hudson, Fla., Tracy J. Banas of O'Hara and Mark S. Banas of Penn Hills; a daughter, Linda L. Banas of Oakmont; 12 grandchildren; and two brothers, Emil Banas of Springdale and Donald Banas of Cheswick. He also is survived by his companion, Phyllis Daniels of Belle Vernon. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Terri Banas Azurin; a grandson, Austin Reed Banas; and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Banas Sr. Friends and relatives will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME INC., 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont, where services will beat 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Plum Creek Cemetery, Plum.
