1944
08
Born Aug. 29, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Caroline McBryar Smeltzer. She was raised in Avonmore and graduated from Avonmore High School.
Above all, she was a devoted wife and mother. Her family was always her first priority. Night or day, whatever the need, she was there and this compassion and thoughtfulness was extended to so many beyond her immediate family. She loved showing her grandkids the hummingbirds or deer that graced the back yard and rarely did the grandkids leave without a bag full of treats.
Her hobby was her artwork, which she sold at various venues in the area. She also taught painting classes at seminars, hoping to someday have a teaching studio in her home.
She worked several places over the years, including Jardine's Restaurant in Buffalo Township and Moonlight Mushroom Mines in Winfield Township.
She was a Christian and our comfort is in knowing that she is with the Lord.
Surviving is her husband of 42 years, Bill, and their four children and their spouses, Michelle and Bill Allen of Greenville, Bill and Nina Cadamore of Freeport, Brian and Jennifer Cadamore of Cabot, and Mark and Kelly Cadamore of Mars; nine grandchildren: Brianna of Greenville; Billy, Brittni and Brandi of Freeport; John, Matthew and Benjamin of Cabot; and Kaitlin and Dawson of Mars. Also surviving are three sisters, Bertha Sutton of Lower Burrell, Brenda and Lynn Fennel of Salina; and Twyla and Frank Marckioni of Greensburg.
Her parents, brother Gene, and her grandson Bryan Allen, preceded her in death.
Friends and family are being welcomed on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 High St., Freeport, and from 9 a.m. Friday until time of a funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev.
