Charles Kenneth Francis Jr., 52, of Frazer Township, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side Tuesday, June 26, 2018. He was born Oct. 15, 1965, in Washington, Pa., to the late Charles Sr. and Hildreth Gall Francis. Charles was a graduate of McGuffey High School and then attended Washington College, receiving a bachelor's degree in science. He was employed for UPMC Clinical Lab Services, Oakland, as a lab technician. He enjoyed going to drum corps competitions. He was also a member of Amplify Church, Pittsburgh East Campus. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two stepsiblings, Mona Morris and John K. Francis. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Artz Francis; two children, Alexa and Grace Grill; sister, LeeAnn (Charles) Sorice; stepbrothers, Charles (Barbara) and George (Nitiya) Francis; stepsisters, Mary Lou Galentine and Peggy Bakaitis; and he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2018, at JOSEPH J. CARDARO FUNERAL HOME, A Service Oriented Funeral Home, 1125 Kenneth Ave., New Kensington, 724-337-3325. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2018, at his church, Amplify Church, Pittsburgh East Campus (Plum Borough), 9400 Saltsburg Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15239, with Pastor Jason Howard officiating. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in loving memory of Charles to Amplify Church.

Brenda, Alexa and Grace,

Hugs and prayers to you. Working and chatting with Charles was a pleasure. He always had his quiet way and was very respectful to myself, our friend and coworker Ruth and our coworkers as a whole. I admired his strong sense of faith; I knew when I asked him to pray for my son's safety during a military deployment, that Charles would do it. I will miss Charles and anytime I hear a candy bag crinkling in someone's locker, I will chuckle about how many times I caught him grabbing quick snacks from his own locker:)
