Dale H. Peters

1936 - 2025

Dale H. Peters, 89, a lifelong resident of Greensburg, passed away Oct. 6, 2025, at Latrobe Hospital. Dale was born on July 22, 1936, in Greensburg, a son of Howard Peters Sr. and Grace (Huff) Peters. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Howard Peters Jr.; and sister, Jean Peters. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 66 years, Shirley (Solida) Peters; children, David (Christina) Peters and Sherry (Kevin) Johnston; three grandchildren, David (Beckie) Johnston, Sarah (Brian) Ridilla, and Emma Peters; four great-grandchildren, Brian and Blair Ridilla and Sydney and Wyatt Johnston; sisters, Carol Evans and Arlene Thompson; and a number of nieces and nephews. Dale served in the army from 1959 to 1962. He was a farmer through and through. He was most content when riding his tractors in the fields. Dale was a jack of all trades. There was not any piece of equipment he could not repair. Relaxation was sitting on his porch swing with a cup of coffee or tea and eating a Little Debbie chocolate cake. He was a loving husband, dad, and pappy. Family and friends will be received from 5 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9, at KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home, 524 N. Main St., Greensburg, PA 15601. Private interment will be in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
