Born Aug. 2, 1925, in North Buffalo, she lived for many years in Barking, Plum. After her marriage, she moved to New Kensington, where she lived for several years until moving to Lower Burrell. She had lived with her daughter in Elyria for four years. She was a 1942 graduate of Plum High School. During the 1960's, she worked for Dutchmaid Clothing, Lower Burrell, and in the 1970's, she and her daughter were co-owners of Murray's Yarn Shop in Lower Burrell. Mrs. Murray was a member of Church of the Redeemer Episcopal Church in Lorain, Ohio, and was a former member of Bethesda Lutheran Church, Lower Burrell, and First Lutheran Church in New Kensington. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, knitting, playing bingo and cooking. Survivors include a two sons, Jeff (Anita) Murray of Red Oak, Texas, and Greg Murray of Leechburg; a daughter, Mrs. Beryl (Gordon) Olson of Elyria; five grandchildren; two brothers, Alton Claypool of Tarentum and Leon Claypool of Leechburg; two stepbrothers, Thom and Nevel Breck, both of Natrona Heights, Harrison; and two stepsisters, Willevene Wiley and Vanetta Harvey, both of Saxonburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Murray; her parents, Wesley Dewey and Genevieve Grafton Claypool; her stepmother, Mamie Claypool; a brother, Lincoln Claypool; and two sisters, Josephine Claypool and Mildred Moore. Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight at the CICHOLSKI-ZIDEK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights, where a funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday. Officiating will be the Rev. Stephen Sedgewick, pastor of Church of the Redeemer. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
