Mary A. Pianko

1934 - 2024

Mary Ann 'Hun' Pianko, 90, of Humphreys, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2024, in Redstone Highlands, Greensburg. She was born Oct. 22, 1934, in Humphreys, a daughter of the late Ignatius W. and Antoinette (Staschak) Pianko. Prior to retirement, she worked at Westinghouse (Powerex) in Youngwood. She was a member of St. Florian Catholic Church, United, and had been a member of the former St. Stanislaus Church. Hun enjoyed spending time with inside and outside decorations for all holidays. She especially enjoyed planting flowers and painting. She was loved by her family and will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine E. 'Katie' Pianko, and a brother, Joseph Pianko. She is survived by her brother, Thomas Pianko, and wife Patricia of Loyalhanna; two sisters, Ann Gumbita of Latrobe, and Ginny Trout of Humphreys; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Friends will be received from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity. Prayers will begin in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Friday, followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Florian Catholic Church with The Rev. John A. Sedlak as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township. A parish vigil service will be held Thursday, at 6:45 p.m. in the funeral home.
