Merle McKelvey Obituary

Merle T. McKelvey, 81, of Ford Cliff, died Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, at his home. Born May 9, 1940, in Kittanning, he was a son of the late Edward and Sophia (Cravener) McKelvey. Merle was a member of Ford Memorial United Methodist Church, Ford City. He also belonged to the Ford City VFW and the Ford Cliff Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in the mountains, and going to Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and Salamanca, N.Y. Merle had a lot of friends and loved interaction with people. He is survived by his grandchildren, William (Tracy) Beil, of Kentucky, Matthew (Jessica) Beil, of Kentucky, Theresa Manion, of Janesville, Wis., Kelly Hooper, of Portland, Ore., and Liam Bugelhall, of Portland, Ore.; and his great-grandchildren, Bill and Stella Beil, Gracie, Sophia, Benjamin and Maggie Manion. Merle also leaves behind his companion, Nancy Costanzo, of Kittanning; his brother-in-law, Mark Bryan, of McGrann; and his son-in-law, Tracy Shultz, of Sugarcreek Township. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sally A. (Bryan) McKelvey; two daughters, Sally J. Schultz and Margaret McKelvey; his son, Brian McKelvey; and a brother, John McKelvey. At Merle's request, there will be no public visitation or services.
