Ray May Obituary

Ray E. May, 67, of Acme, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at his home, while surrounded and comforted by his loving family. He was born May 11, 1957, in MT. Pleasant, a son of the late William H. and Audrey J. Corwin May. Ray was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant Area High School with the class of 1975. He was a construction carpenter having worked through Union Local 432 in Pittsburgh. Ray enjoyed hunting, training dogs, and raising birds for hunting. He was a member of the Fairbanks and On Point Retrievers Club, raised pheasants and chukars for hunting, and was a member of NAHRA and the Quail Project. Ray will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his loving family, his wife of 42 years, Jill Ann Meyer May; his children, Jeremy May and wife, Kate, of Latrobe, Rebecca Simon and husband, William, of Lemont Furnace, and Jessica White and husband, Richard, of Donegal; his grandchildren, Samuel and Scarlett May, Raelynn, Willa, and Vada Simon, Clayton White, and Da'fiyah, and Eilend Porterfield; his siblings, Janet Ritenour of Melcroft, Dale May and wife, Connie, of Acme, Darlene Blackburn and husband, John, of White, and Kathy Stough and husband, Jeffrey, of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to keep Ray's legacy alive: tell a joke to a random stranger, buy someone you don't know a beer. As you gather over the coming weeks, keep telling his stories. Everyone who ever met him has one. As per Ray's request, there will be no viewing or services. Arrangements are under the direction of the MARK C. BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 146 Municipal Building Road, Melcroft (724-455-2310). To leave a message or send condolences, please visit our website at www.brooksfhmelcroft.com.

So sorry for your family´s loss. Ray was a great friend to John. Over the years I heard many great stories. May the two of them be living pain free, training the dogs and raising the birds. Bobbi Elllenberger
