Ronal Piovesan Obituary

Ronal "Eagle" G. Piovesan, 90, soared away to heaven on July 7, 2024, at 6:22 p.m. at Independence Hospital in Greensburg, PA. He was born in Shaner, PA, on Jan. 13,1934. He is preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Ivsic Piovesan; and father, George Jacob Piovesan, both of West Newton. Ron was the owner of Piovesan Construction, which operated for over 50 years, in the West Newton area. He was known to many in the surrounding area for his stock car racing at Motordrome, Smuckers, Lernerville, Jennerstown, and other dirt tracks in the tri-state area during the 60s and 70s with the record setting # 22 car and of course his nickname 'Eagle', which he acquired as a young boy during Boy Scouts. Eagle served in the U.S. Army during the late 1950's in Germany as a heavy machinery service man. He was discharged with a Good Conduct Medal and Superior Marksmanship awards. Many around the area remember his fast cars and daredevil antics both on and off the track. Most of all he was quite proud of his commitment and dedication to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Piovesan, Shaner, PA; and a great-grandson, Devon Capasso of Latrobe. He is survived also by his sister, Reta Zupanc. He was father to his twin daughters, Ranelle (Bryan) Harhai of Greensburg, and Renee (Robert) Deglau of Greensburg; and stepson, Steve Bush of Indiana. Also surviving are grandchildren, Angela (Adam) Brinker, Matthew (Amanda) Capasso, Ryan (Kati) Deglau, Ross (Rebecca) Deglau, Rebecca (John) Sinclair; and great-grandchildren, Enzo Capasso, Carden Deglau, Isaiah Sinclair, Mya Sinclair, Christian Sinclair and Ryleigh Sinclair. We want to thank his special friends, Bill (Smokey) Baird, Jim Tuscano, Alan and Kitty Fulmer, as well as the staff at Independence Hospital in Greensburg, Heartland Hospice care and Ron's Church Family for their exceptional support during his transition to heaven. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 10, from 2 to 8 p.m., in the J. WILLIAM MCCAULEY FUNERAL HOM, 901 Vine Street, West Newton. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 11, at 11 a.m., in the funeral home. For online condolences, visit Mccauleyfuneralhomes.com
