Rose M. Peters

Rose Marie (Poljanec) Peters, 103, passed quietly into the loving arms of the Lord on July 16, 2025. She leaves behind a legacy of faith and devotion to God and her family. Rose was the third of eight children born to Frank and Pauline (Narad) Poljanec of North Versailles. She was a "true" child of the depression. She worked hard, saved money, and was always helping others. During WWII, she worked at East Pittsburgh Westinghouse making airplane parts. She was very proud of her contribution to the war effort. At Westinghouse, she met the love of her life, Ben Peters. They married after the war when he returned from serving in the Navy. Rose and Ben were proud to build their home and raise their family in the Sunset Valley neighborhood of North Huntingdon Township. They were charter members of Lutheran Church of Our Savior. They enjoyed many hours volunteering with their church family. Rose is survived by her loving children Barbara (Michael) Pergar of North Huntingdon and Benjamin of Wilmington, DE. She will be most especially missed by her four beloved grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben; grandson, Andrew Pergar; three brothers; and two sisters. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at OTT FUNERAL HOME INC., 805 Pennsylvania Ave., Irwin, PA 15642, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m. on Friday in Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 1570 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA 15642. Burial will be private.
