The best and most remarkable Teacher and Professor I ever had . After taking one of his courses at Univ of Puget Sound , Dr. Kadarkay was the factor that caused me to decide to take a double major (the second major is in his field) . I knew when I heard him that he was walking , wide History . Unforgettable mentor , beloved human being .

Prof. Kadarkay taught Introduction to Political Science at UC Santa Barbara in the summer of 1971, which was my first college course. He lectured in a very interesting and light-hearted way. We had coffee once, and he welcomed me to academia very warmly.

i loved this man. he was a mentor, supporter, and father figure to me. i wish i had been able to say goodbye -- i did ask to be the one who edited his memoirs, he laughed and said 'of course you want to, tim. but you don't know hungarian!' and he was right. one of the most important relationships of my life.

His comparison between Weber and Lukacs made me cry. Such an intense comparison of their thoughts.

Dr. Kadarkay taught Contemporary Poilitical Theory at UC Santa Barbara and was a brilliant lecturer! I took his class in 1977 and loved it. He inspired us with his stories of living in the Eastern bloc. Charles Mullaly class of 1977

Arpad was a good and supportive colleague during my time at the University of Puget Sound. He was a favorite of his students, staff and peers all of whom appreciated his good cheer and kind nature. He will always be fondly remembered by those who were privileged to have known him. My condolences to his family.
